As 2023 draws to a close, the manga industry has revealed the results of the production race, and it has been a remarkable year with both new works making breakthroughs alongside established names in the field. Oricon, a traditional statistics unit specializing in Japanese book and manga data, has now provided detailed information on the best-selling manga in Japan over the past year.

The manga sales figures for Japan in 2023 reveal that titles such as One Piece, Spy x Family, and Jujutsu Kaisen have resonated strongly with Japanese audiences, all securing high ranks in the top 10.

For many fans, Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen stand as top contenders with a plethora of hot chapters, making a breakthrough in sales figures. However, the top spot for this year goes to Blue Lock—a remarkable manga with consistent performance, boasting tremendous sales over several consecutive weeks.

This immensely popular manga has sold nearly 11 million copies from November 2022 to November 2023.
